A Journey of Faith and Dreams: My Story
I grew up in Paraguay, surrounded by a vibrant culture and a community that truly lived through its music. My own connection to it started when I was only six years old. I remember being at a party hosted by my parents' friends, completely captivated by the sound of the guitars and the voices of the singers. Even at that age, I knew that music was going to be a central theme of my life.
As I got older, I spent as much time as I could listening to great musicians, trying to learn everything I could from them. At fourteen, I started lessons for guitar and voice, but like a lot of teenagers, I got distracted by sports and hanging out with friends. I stepped away from music for a while, and honestly, it’s something I still regret today.
But that passion never really goes away. I eventually started singing again whenever I had the chance, though life in a large family meant I had plenty of other responsibilities. Being one of eight children, a lot of my time was spent in school and helping my parents take care of my younger siblings. Later, in my twenties, I spent five years balancing a full-time job with my college studies so I could help support our family financially.
Even with those long hours, I kept performing whenever I could. My faith eventually took me to Argentina for two years of missionary service, which really solidified my desire to keep music at the heart of my life. However, the economy back home in Paraguay made a career in the arts feel very out of reach. It was during a particularly difficult time that I got a phone call from a close friend and former mission companion. Their family’s kindness allowed me to move to the United States to finish my education. I made the most of it—working hard to earn two degrees and a vocal performance certification.
My journey hasn’t stopped; it has simply expanded. Along the way, I’ve built a professional career I’m proud of as a writer, editor, translator, and author. Working for a publishing company has been a great way to sharpen those skills, and it’s even led me to publish my own books. I use these talents every day, and they provide a great foundation while I continue to grow my work as a singer and musician. I’ve spent over thirty years building up my technique and experience, and I’m still enjoying the process of seeing where my music can go.
A big part of that journey lately has been recording my first three EPs: "Mi corazón" in Spanish, "My Heart" in English, and "Il mio cuore" in Italian. These records are a snapshot of my love for singing beautiful songs in various languages, my faith, the hard work I’ve put in, and the support of loved ones who have been in my corner from the start.
I’d love for you to listen to these songs and be a part of the journey. You can check them out at the link below. It’s a story that’s still being written, and I’m glad to share it with you.
